At Mendocino K-8 School, we celebrate our differences and foster respect for others. We strive to create a safe, positive school, where students are encouraged to explore, create, and challenge themselves to maximize their academic learning and personal development. Together in our school community, our students discover they have a purpose in our local, national, and global communities.

Mendocino K-8 School is a small, rural school located on the North Coast of California. We serve 300± students from the communities of Mendocino, Little River, Caspar, Comptche, Albion and Elk. In recent years we have dedicated ourselves to a multi-aged approach to education. One of the many benefits to a multi-aged approach is that it has allowed our educators to collaborate and work in teams to best serve students.

Our dedicated, caring staff makes it a priority to connect and build relationships with all students. Families are an integral part of our school community, providing support through volunteering, school focused organizations, and working with the school to foster student success.
